CareCost exists so no patient in the U.S. has to navigate medical bills, charity care, or assistance programs alone. We're warm, plain-spoken, nonjudgmental — and free.
Tochukwu Godswill Oyi
Founder
Tochukwu started CareCost after years of working in the healthcare field, where he watched patients struggle to access healthcare because of high costs and confusing bills. He built CareCost to walk people through their medical bills in plain language and connect them with charity care, payment programs, and resources that can actually help pay what they owe.

What we collect
Only what you give us — your assessment answers, saved programs, and (when you sign in) basic account info.
Why we collect it
To estimate costs, match you with programs, and let you track applications across visits.
How we protect it
Account data is stored encrypted at rest. Uploads use encrypted storage. We use industry-standard security practices and treat health-related context with HIPAA-aware care.
What we never do
We never sell your data. We never share your info with any organization without your explicit consent. No ads. No tracking pixels for marketing.
Is: Educational guidance, cost estimates, a directory of charitable programs, and tools to navigate billing.
Isn't: Legal advice, medical advice, a guarantee of program eligibility, or a substitute for talking to your hospital's billing office, a billing advocate, or an attorney.
